SeAH Besteel has obtained the eco-label certification for its concrete aggregates manufactured by recycling slag, a byproduct of the steelmaking process. This achievement demonstrates the potential of innovation in resource recycling. The core of this innovation lies in separation.

The company has redefined it as a high-value raw material tailored to specific applications by moving beyond the conventional mixed processing method and introducing a system that separates and manages slag by type. Electric arc furnace slag is utilized as an eco-certified aggregate for concrete and asphalt aggregate, while refined slag is supplied as a raw material for ultra-rapid hardening cement.

Through this initiative, SeAH Besteel is expected to strengthen the circular resource system while enhancing profitability.

SeAH Besteel's Gunsan R&D Center and Changnyeong Plant are strengthening initiatives to create a safe working environment and a deep-rooted safety culture. These efforts aim to achieve Zero Major Accidents by enhancing workplace controls and mitigating high-risk factors.

The Gunsan R&D Center reduced high-risk tasks by modifying temperature measurement procedures on the small bar mill line and introducing automated exhaust gas measurement and a macro evaluation handling jig. It also demonstrated its safety management capabilities by achieving a Grade 1 rating in in-depth safety inspection.

The Changnyeong Plant has enhanced on-site safety by installing safety lifelines on DC and HC tank tops and implementing an automated transfer system for scale boxes in the small-size finishing lines. In addition, the plant is promoting a practical safety culture through joint safety campaigns with partners and specialized emergency response training for confined spaces.

A patent application for the manufacturing method of SeAH Coated Metal's high-definition color coating steel sheet product "Mirror Coat" was filed with the Ministry of Intellectual Property in January and is currently under review. The Mirror Coat trademark was previously registered in November last year, which established a foundation for protecting both technology and brand value.

The patent filing was led by the Quality Management Team, with relevant departments collaborating and sharing progress throughout the process. Registration will be determined following a patent review, and the patent is expected to become a key asset in strengthening technological competitiveness of SeAH Coated Metal.

On February 11, a blood donation campaign for the first half of 2026, organized by the Jeonbuk Blood Center, Korean Red Cross, was held in front of SeAH Coated Metal's Hanmaeum Community Center.
