Compliance Proven with Zero Nonconformities, Advancing from Trust to Competitive Strength

SeAH Steel Holdings, SeAH Steel, and SeAH Coated Metal Successfully Passes the Compliance Management System Surveillance Audit

SeAH Steel Holdings, SeAH Steel, and SeAH Coated Metal—three affiliates of SeAH—have successfully passed the surveillance audit for the International Organization for Standardization’s compliance management system, ISO 37301, with zero nonconformities and outstanding results. This achievement once again confirms that SeAH’s compliance management system, built on its core value, “honesty”, is effectively operating in practice across its businesses.

SeAH Steel Holdings, SeAH Steel, and SeAH Coated Metal—three affiliates of SeAH—have once again demonstrated their global-level compliance capabilities by successfully passing the ISO 37301 compliance management system surveillance audit with outstanding results and zero nonconformities.

After becoming the first companies in Korea’s steel industry to obtain ISO 37301 certification in 2023 and establishing a leading compliance framework, the three companies have now achieved another milestone by recording zero nonconformities in this latest audit.

Conducted every three years, the surveillance audit applies more rigorous standards than the initial certification, placing greater emphasis on the operation and management of the system. By meeting these higher standards without exception, SeAH has objectively demonstrated that its compliance management system is effectively embedded in day-to-day operations.

The audit team particularly recognized the stable operation of the in-house integrated system, “CP Lounge,” developed to support compliance activities, as well as the company’s efforts to embed compliance practices through its department-level Compliance Helper program.

To mark the successful completion of the audit, CEO Lee, Joosung shared a message of appreciation with all employees, reaffirming the meaning and direction of compliance management. He commended that the “practical internalization” he has emphasized since its introduction in 2023—the first of its kind in the steel industry—has been successfully embedded even amid demanding day-to-day operations, and underscored “honesty,” SeAH’s core value, as the key guiding principle for the future direction of compliance management.

He stated, “Through a systematic and transparent management system, we must firmly root honesty as SeAH’s unwavering corporate culture and a source of pride. When deeply embedded, honesty will go beyond a simple ethical standard—it will become our strength in building strong trust with the market and our customers, and lead to another core value, excellence.”

He also highlighted the growing strategic importance of compliance in response to changes in the global regulatory environment. As demands for supply chain transparency continue to increase, only companies that prepare ahead of others and fully embed compliance into their operations will be able to secure long-term competitiveness. He emphasized once again that compliance is not a constraint on business, but a strong foundation that safeguards the company’s continuity and supports collaboration.

A representative from the Compliance Team at SeAH Steel Holdings added, “Rather than settling for our achievement as the first in Korea’s steel industry to obtain certification, we have continuously advanced our system over the past three years, leading to this successful renewal audit. Going forward, we will continue to build on management’s firm philosophy to ensure that compliance becomes deeply embedded in the everyday practices of all employees.”
