SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation signs sponsorship and partnership agreement with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra to advance arts and culture

SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra have signed a spon-sorship and partnership agreement to promote the development of arts and culture. The signing ceremony took place on September 17 at SeAH Tower, with Chairman Park, Euisook of the SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation and CEO Jung Jae-wal of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in attendance, along with key representatives from both organizations. The event reaffirmed their shared commitment to future collaboration. Under this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate for three years, from 2025 to 2027, to support the Seoul Philharmonic’s U.S. concert tour, co-host classical and opera performances, and promote public access to culture through revitalized arts initiatives. Through these efforts, they aim to expand the global influence of Korean classical music and explore new possibilities within the performing arts.

The agreement reflects the shared vision of both organizations to broaden the reach of classical music and enhance its global position.

SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation, which has long contributed to the advancement of Korea’s arts and culture through various support initiatives, plans to work together through this partnership to help more citizens experience and appreciate the value of classical music.

SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation, founded in August 2013 to honor the late Chairman Lee, Woon Hyung—a passionate patron of the opera—has played a major role in discovering and supporting promising young Korean artists and fostering the development of the Korean opera scene. It also continues to enrich the cultural landscape through the planning and hosting of regular classical performances.

Chairman Park, Euisook expressed her delight in collaborating with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, stating, “It is an honor to work alongside the nation’s leading orchestra to shape the future of classical music. Together with the Seoul Philharmonic, whose performances meet world-class standards, we aim to present performances of great artistic value that move audiences through the beauty of art and culture.” She added, “Through this agreement, we hope to offer young artists supported by the Foundation a meaningful opportunity to perform on stage with the Seoul Philharmonic, creating high-quality performances together and contributing to the advancement of Korean opera.”

CEO Jung Jae-wal of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra stated, “The sponsorship agreement will serve as a strong foundation for the orchestra’s next leap onto the global stage”, adding, “Through close collaboration with SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation, the orchestra will continue to explore new possibilities in the performing arts and contribute to the growth of K-Classics and the broader cultural landscape.”

SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra will continue to work together to create new stages and take meaningful steps toward the global expansion of Korean classical music.
