King Charles III of the U.K. visits SeAH Wind, local subsidiary of SeAH Steel Holdings

King Charles III visited 'SeAH Wind', a monopile manufacturing subsidiary for offshore wind substructures of SeAH Steel Holdings, on the 13th local time, as part of his official visit to the Teesside region of the U.K. offshore wind farm, inspecting the factory and manufacturing facilities.


CEO Lee, Joosung of SeAH Steel Holdings, CEO Sohn, Sung-hwaland Peter Ivey, Chief Operating Officer (COO)of SeAH Wind, , graduates and apprentices from SeAH Wind Academy, as well as representatives from major eco-friendly energy companies in Europe and the local area joined The King’s visit.


Under the leadership of CEO Lee, King Charles III, , toured the production line of the SeAH Wind factory, observing the advanced technological equipment for monopile manufacturing and the skilled work processes of SeAH Wind employees. He listened to explanations about SeAH Wind's role and technological capabilities in contributing to the establishment of eco-friendly energy infrastructure.


Additionally, a commemorative plaque unveiling ceremony was held to mark The King's visit, after The King had the opportunity to stand inside the large 8-meter diameter steel can that had been test-produced in the factory.


In particular, as this visit took place during 'National Apprenticeship Week', the King met and personally encouraged SeAH Wind apprentices from Middlesbrough College and Hartlepool College of Further Education, as well as apprentices from contractors involved in the factory construction.


SeAH Steel Holdings has constructed the world's largest monopile factory within the offshore wind farm located in the Teesside region of the U.K. through SeAH Wind, and is currently conducting final equipment installation and test production ahead of the commercial production launch this March. To date, an investment of 900 million pounds (approximately 1.5 trillionKRW) has been made, and upon completion, it will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of monopiles.


CEO Lee of SeAH Steel Holdings., said, "We consider King Charles III's visit to the SeAH Wind factory as a great honor," adding, "This visit has become an opportunity to solidify the values we cherish: leadership, innovation, and sustainability. It is also very meaningful that apprentices who will lead the future of SeAH Wind were able to be a part of this meaningful day."
